The European social forum in London was this year very poorly organised. It was mostly because of the hegemony of british Socialist workers party and similar authoritarian groups. According to the Charter of Principles from Porto Alegre there is no place for such organisations on the Forum. The World Social Forum is a plural, diversified, non-confessional, non-governmental and non-party context that, in a decentralized fashion, interrelates organizations and movements engaged in concrete action at levels from the local to the international to built another world. Not only that this principle was violated, the organisers strived to marginalize and put to silence all critical voices coming from the participants and alternative places. The organizers usurped the ESF even with the help of police violence as you can see on this video from King Cross arrests. The answers of SWP to the criticism are paranoic lies about Black Bloc violence etc.: Alex Callinicos. Slovenian movement Dost je! joins to the criticism of the organisers who initiated and suported the police violence and blocked the work on the ESF according the Charter. The future meetings have to revive these prrinciples and turn down usurpation of global movement from the side of political parties.
